For Sale: JALLESIA

Hello, everyone!

Due to health and time reasons I am going to have to sell my AK eligible Straight Egyptian mare Jallesia (registered with papers).  She is a flea-bit grey 7 year old, 15-15.1 hands, and has just begun under saddle work.  She was coming along nicely until March, when I had health problems (not to mention a deployed military husband) and have since been unable to give her any time to further her training.  She has a beautiful head and neck with a naturally-balanced gait.  She is wide-backed with a deep chest and well-sprung ribs.  For those of you who like a small horse with a big horse feel, Leesa is it.

Leesa was sorely neglected in her youth before we acquired her, and is a bit crooked in the front legs.  I have been told by a person well-acquainted with AKs that this is more likely due to her neglect than her breeding.  She has good hard feet and has never been lame a day in her life.  Even though she has been only recently started under saddle, she is very active in the pasture.

Leesa is best suited to a home that has time to spend with her and is an experienced horseperson who has training experience.  She is of a sensitive nature, but willing and eager to learn.  She has incredible stamina and endurance, for those looking for a horse for competitive trail or endurance.

Leesa trailers, cross ties, stands well for the vet and farrier, lunges, saddles and bridles well.  We have used clippers on her bridle path, but no where else.  I am sure she will do well.  She is frequently led around the farm with a led line looped loosely around her neck.  Before her training stopped, she was working in a D-ring snaffle.  Under saddle training was limited to standing while being mounted and dismounted, walking, trotting, changing direction, backing under saddle.  She has begun work on bending and is supple.

Leesa is located in Theresa, NY an hour and a half north of Syracuse.  She is UTD on all vaccinations and coggins.  I have no video,  and these photos are admittedly rotten. If you are still interested, I can get someone to help me take some better shots --- or a video (we are a military family and I am currently single-arenting it with all these horses!)Price on Leesa is only $1,000.  I will consider a trade for a sound kid-safe pony (13-13.2 hands) to be my daughter's first pony mount.
